The new MultiLine PCBs with 150W/mk!

The MultiLine Aluminium circuit boards gives a maximum of flexibility to the user. Mounting, chiose of the illuminants and packaging are fully flexible and changeable. Please read below about

the technical data:

the concept:

Task: To create a full circuit board system that lives up to the expectations of usability and multifunctionality. This is what we wanted:

- Extendable module system, modules with constant LED intervals for homogeneous lighting
- Maximum number of possible shortenings at different lengths
- Dimensions well choosen in the face of available profile systems
- Maximum number of LEDs for a homogeneous lighting already at small distances
- Useable with all available emitters (details below)
- Potential-free on the back side for direct mounting on metal surfaces without further isolation
- Flexible mounting possibilities for the whole circuit board AND each element itself
- Good heat conductive properties (Thermal design)
- Emotive design

the dimensions:

The circuit boards have a standart length of 24cm and a width of 1cm. Why? The width of 1cm gives you the possibilty to use the boards with most available profile mounting systems like our MultiLine profile system which are all 1cm wide. The length of 24cm was choosen to ease the use of the boards with metric norm lamp systems. For example: If you would like to make a filigree LED profile of 50cm the total length of the boards would be 48cm (2x 24) which gives you the neccessary space for end caps on each side. Former circuit boards had to be shortened very laborious and the soldering connection pads were ofter killed on both end!

the shortening and extension possibilities (gallery pic 5):

You can not only realize the standart lengths of 24cm of course, no, you now have the free choise: The 24cm modules consist of eight 3cm segments for one LED emitter each. The board can be shortened at rated break points between each segment to create alternatively modules of 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 or 21cm length which means modules with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 LEDs in series connection!

Never fear exceptional cases anymore:

1) Special dimensions: If your application shall have an exact length of 33cm for example this will be no problem. Just take a standart 24cm module and a piece of 3 segements of another one and fix them.

2) A question of money: If you application need a 21cm stripe for example but the budget only allows 4 LEDs this problem can be solved. Just take a 24cm module shorten it by one element and only use every other segment. The not required segements can be connected through very easily.

3) Special design parts and custom parts: Some applications need a special kind of light. You can now realize nearly every wish of your customers like a white-yellow-version for warm-white lighting, a rainbow-version with all colors for commercial use or maybe blue-white-versions for the next october fest.

the thermal design and heat management:

We recommend not to use more than two fully mounted stripes in series connection. The reason is the summary of the forward voltages of the LEDs which can easily rise over 50V as well as the number of available power supplies that rarely can drive more than 16x 350mA LEDs. Here is a little choise of possible constant current power supplies:

1) Power supply 1 (2x8 1W LEDs, adjustable by 0-10V signal)
2) Power supply 2 (8x1W or 6x3W LEDs, with many optional features)

We highly recommend additional cooling elements or direct mounting on heat conductive surfaces particularly in face of fully mounted stripes because the aluminium circuit boards can only be the carrier medium and not the whole cooler. the mounting possibilities:

The 24cm stripes have two drill holes on each segment which gives you 16 possibilities to mount the stripes even on metal surfaces because the stripes are absolutely potential-free on their back sides. A further way to mount the stripes would be to use an additional profile system like our MultiLine profile mounting system. Further details can be read in whose part desciptions.
