Oval LEDs have been improved especially for commercial lighting. Used in common LED stripes for indoor or outdoor applications the LEDs provide a line effect the the watching eye. If the 110° side are placed facing to each other the viewing angle overlap and the human eyes sees it like aline and not like two single LEDs!
Oval LEDs are available in two different series: The transparent 5.3 x 2.8mm LEDs especially for outdoor panels and the 5.6 x 4.6mm superbright versions for common applications.
