New P7 version - Now on stock! The new Seoul P7 is a multichip LED with 4x EZBright Chips from CREE in one housing. The chips are placed in parallel connection so total forward current of this product is (typ.) 2800 mA. To ensure that this partis driven on correct forward current we especially developed a new linear PowerLine power supply with 2800mA output (see above links) available as standard version with cooler or SLIM version. The chip cluster of the P7 is extremly powerful. With typ. 11,8W and an efficacy of ~90lm/W makes this LED the first part ever to reach to 1000 Lumen frontier. It also saves a lot of space to the customer because 4 single LEDs need more space than this part does. This makes it even more interesting for alternative lighting applications and halogen replacements where not much space is given to the developer. By the way: The P7 also saves money to the user because it is cheaper than 4 single P4 LEDs! Please note
You should fortified take care of the different selections (bin codes) od the LEDs. For example: White LEDs of Rank "U" have a luminous flux of about 91 till 118.5lm and lower ranks a lot less (@ 1000mA). These differences and the later light efficiency of your application can thereby highly fluctuate. The low forward voltages (Vf) assure a low development of heat that benefits a maximum live time of the products. Please do never run applications with high power LEDs without constant current power supplies. You can find those right here. Heat management
Applications with high power LEDs need enduring, adequate and plane heat conduction from the first moment of use. It is very important and neccessary to get the heat off the devices to ensure the maximum light output, lifetime and efficiancy.
Drive management
LEDs should be run with a constant current in addition to the manufacturers recommendations. To ensure this we recommend to take constant current power supplies because resistors are always a risk factor in high power LED applications.
EMC protection
LEDs are sensitive against heat and electric charge. Please avoid any kind of short circuits or electric discharge to the illuminant. The chip can be damaged or even destroyed.
Storage / JEDEC level
The storage temperature should be from -30°C up to + 80°C in dry ambience. After opening a sealed bag the content should be mounted rapidly. Once absorbed humidity can be removed by tempering the LEDs in some cases. More information can be found in the manufacturers datasheets or on the manufacturer homepages.
Soldering conditions
Each LED has its own soldering conditions that the user should pay attention to. After the launched lead free processing specifications many standarts have changed. Information about recommended soldering can be found in the manufacturers datasheets or on the manufacturer homepages.
